What is buffing?

Buffing can be defined in many ways like;

     Buffing is a finishing process which is similar to polishing, Where abrasive grains are contained in a Buffing compound (not glued to the buffing wheel) and are pressed into the outside surface of Buffing wheel.

      It is simply a metal removal process which removes scratch or any other marks from the metal body of your vehicle.

(or)

Buffing is a surface finishing process used to shine wood, metal or composites using a wheel generally made up of cotton.

       Buffing is done for Automobiles, Motor cycles, Bicycles, Household items like utensils, Tools, fixtures and sports items

Do we have automatic/ semi-automatic Buffing machines?

        Doing the process manually gives the best results at low cost so it is done manually even some machines have been designed to perform the process automatically.



What a Buffing wheel is made of ?

    A Buffing wheel is generally made by Linen,Cotton,Canvass in multiple layers of cloths overlapping each other.


What is the speed of Buffing wheel?

   The Buffing wheel rotates at a speed of 32.5 to 40 m/s, So that when pressure is applied on the wheel it promote abrasive action and removes metal.
